Google UAC Ads
Google App Campaigns (UAC) management
Grow your app across all of Google, automatically.
We run Universal App Campaigns to drive quality installs and in-app actions across Search, Play, YouTube, and Display — optimized for users who actually stick.
Google App Campaigns — still widely called UAC, from their old name Universal App Campaigns — promote your app across Google Search, Google Play, YouTube, Display and Discover from a single campaign. You provide text, images and video; Google assembles ads and finds users. Whether those users stay depends almost entirely on what you ask the campaign to optimise for and how good your measurement is.
We run App Campaigns optimised for the users who matter: in-app actions and value rather than raw installs, measured through your mobile measurement partner or Firebase, with creative built for each placement and budgets paced to your payback targets.
The problem
UAC systems are highly automated, meaning bad input parameters or unstructured ad assets cause the algorithm to waste spend on low-LTV install-bots.
What we do
- Configure Google Universal App Campaigns mapping to specialized post-install conversion actions
- Feed structural asset registries with high-gravity copywriting, images, and clips
- Optimize campaign criteria toward app activation metrics instead of raw metrics
- Integrate app analytics SDK tracking payloads safely to ad engines
What you get
- Structured ad copy and visual asset group grids configured for UAC criteria
- Post-install event tracking parameters mapped across Google Play databases
- Daily installation to activation conversion dashboards
Continuous mobile app growth delivering active, high-retaining user cohorts.
Who this is for
- Consumer and fintech apps on Android and iOS acquiring users at scale
- Subscription apps where trial-to-paid conversion and retention decide profitability
- Apps whose installs are cheap but whose day-7 and day-30 retention is weak
- Teams setting up AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch or Firebase for paid acquisition
What's included
- Measurement setup with your MMP or Firebase, including in-app events and values
- Campaign structure across install, in-app action and value bidding
- Creative asset plan for Search, Play, YouTube and Display placements
- iOS measurement planning around App Tracking Transparency and SKAdNetwork
- Cohort reporting: retention, conversion to paid and payback by campaign
- Budget pacing and scaling rules tied to cohort performance
Optimise for users, not installs
An App Campaign optimised for installs will find people who install — including many who open the app once and never return. Optimising for an in-app action, such as completing registration, making a first purchase or starting a trial, finds users more likely to take that action. Value-based bidding goes further when actions carry revenue. The trade-off is volume: deeper events are rarer, so campaigns need enough of them to learn.
We choose the optimisation event from your funnel data: the earliest action that reliably predicts retention or revenue and happens often enough to train on. Our article on app user acquisition cost optimization covers the economics.
Measurement on iOS and Android
On Android, App Campaigns can measure most in-app events through Firebase or a mobile measurement partner. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework limits user-level tracking for users who do not opt in, and campaigns rely more on SKAdNetwork and modelled conversions. We plan iOS measurement explicitly — conversion value schemas, realistic expectations and blended checks — rather than assuming iOS reporting matches Android. Our explainer on iOS attribution and SKAdNetwork 4 covers the details.
Creative across placements
App Campaigns assemble ads from your assets, so asset variety matters. Short videos in vertical, square and landscape formats, clear screenshots and concise text lines give Google room to fit each placement. We review asset performance ratings regularly, replace weak assets and test new concepts, because creative usually limits scale before budget does.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between UAC and Google App Campaigns?
They are the same product. Universal App Campaigns was the earlier name; Google now calls them App Campaigns.
Should we optimise for installs or in-app actions?
Usually in-app actions once you have enough of them, because they find users more likely to stay or pay. Install campaigns can make sense at launch or to build volume for deeper optimisation later.
Do we need a mobile measurement partner?
Not always — Firebase works for many apps advertising mainly on Google. An MMP such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or Branch becomes valuable when you run several ad networks and need consistent, deduplicated attribution across them.
How are App Campaigns measured on iOS?
For users who do not opt in to tracking, measurement relies on SKAdNetwork and modelling, which provide less detailed, delayed data. We plan conversion values and reporting around those limits.
Can App Campaigns target re-engagement of existing users?
Yes, App Campaigns for engagement target people who already have your app. They work best with a clear reason to return, such as a new feature or offer, and deep links into the right screen.
Pricing: monthly retainers by region
Every engagement is a monthly retainer priced on scope — never a percentage of ad spend. The range depends on the number of channels, markets and the depth of tracking and CRM work involved.
